Tuesday Morning Dump

- Luke Winn was down in San Antonio for the FIBA Americas U18 tournament. As usual, Winn put together a pretty impressive recap.

- Your best read from the holiday weekend.

- We talked about the TMZ report on John Wall and Kentucky last week. Its difficult to take TMZ at their word given that its TMZ and that there was so little in the report. But to their credit, TMZ got it right with the Tiny Gallon report, and combined with this Sports by Brooks post claiming that the NCAA is looking into John Wall's relationship with the Cliftons, I think Big Blue fans should at the least be paying attention to this.

- Beyond The Arc is back up and running (congratulations to Mike on his first child), and starts things off with a post on a sure fire, first team all-name selection next season -- God's Gift Achiuwa.

- USF's Stan Heath got a three-year extension.

- NBA Summer League play started in Orlando yesterday. Lance Stephenson looked very good, scoring 21 points in his professional debut. Perhaps more interesting was the play of Kentucky's 5th first round choice, Daniel Orton. Orton was awful in his debut, going 1-8 from the floor and getting ejected from the game (see below). That said, some still believe he made the correct decision going pro.

- Terrence Williams, our old friend from Louisville, threw down this impressive dunk yesterday as well.

- Two more UCLA players undergoing surgery. It seems like everyone on that roster has been injured in the past year.

- Harvard self-reported secondary violations.

- Rivals top ten coaches on the hot seat list is solid, although I have a tough time agreeing with the last two.

- Jay Wright has landed another stud back court player, this time getting a commitment from Tyrone Johnson from the class of '11.

- UConn has hired Glen Miller -- a former Husky player, Husky assistant coach, and the head coach at Penn last season that was fired after an 0-7 start -- as their director of basketball administration.
