More tragedy in the high school ranks

This has been a horrific off-season for those that cover high school hoops.

It started with Tobi Oyedeji, a Texas A&M recruit that was killed in a car crash as he drove home on Prom Night. Then late last week, Detrique Baker, a D1 prospect from North Carolina, was one of four men killed when a driver lost control of an SUV.

On July 4th, we lost two more young lives.

Deion Jackson-Houston, a point guard recruit from the class of 2012 who played for Duncanville High School, was killed when a train struck his car late on Saturday night. The following day, John Crowder, a 6'8" Baltimore native that was playing his high school ball in Texas, was shot and killed.

Its always a shame when this many young, promising lives are ended early. My heart goes out to the families and the loved ones of each player.
