In case you weren't aware, Memphis was going to cancel their non-conference rivalry game with Tennessee. Josh Pastner was pretty adamant about it to the media. But less than 48 hours, the Memphis AD was singing a different tune.

Ugh.

This is such a Memphis-thing for them to do.

The third installment of our series of Q-and-As features none other than Gregg Doyel of CBS Sports.

There are not many national writers who are more polarizing as Gregg Doyel. He likes talking about himself, he speaks his mind, and often says things that others won't or can't. It's more than likely that you've read his work and have gotten pissed off or formed an opinion entirely different than his. You won't find many journalists that are more narcissistic yet self-deprecating than Doyel.

In short, he's exactly what I would want to be like if I was any good at writing.

After the jump, listen to Gregg talk about hate mail, the use of twitter by collegiate athletes, his thoughts on expansion, Jim Calhoun, and his opponent in a fantasy media boxing match.

(NOTE: The following podcast isn't chalk-full of as much college basketball discussion as you may think, like or expect. If you are looking for some hoops-heavy content, I suggest you peruse other sections of B.I.A.H.)

But when you get a guy like Gregg Doyel on the phone, you just go with it, and that's exactly what I did.

We start with a discussion about himself, briefly dabble in expansion talk, listen to more about Gregg, chat about why Twitter isn't good for angry people, and his feelings for Jim Calhoun. Them we spend ample time talking about the UFC and his view on Mixed Martial Arts, then more about Gregg, some gossip about his co-workers Jeff Borzello and Gary Parrish, all before ending with more talk about, what else, but Gregg Doyel.

But that's kinda why he's the man.

Apparently now Podcastin' is a Habit

Andy Bottoms from Midwest Sports Fans will be teaming up with us this year to do a (hopefully) weekly podcast.

Sometimes we'll have guests. Most of the time Troy will join us. It should be fun, and will definitely be worth a listen if you like hearing folks ramble on about college basketball.
