Last night kicked off the start of the Pangos All-American camp out in LA, and the scouts in attendance probably could not have asked for a better beginning.
Isaiah Austin and Andre Drummond are the two centers that just so happen to be the two best players in the country according to our consensus recruiting rankings. Last night, they went head-to-head.
And there's video:
By all accounts, Drummond appears to have bested Austin. Dave Telep of ESPN.com tweeted that "This one is going to Drummond barring a late round KO. Too strong.", while Evan Daniels of Scout.com tweeted "Andre Drummond is balling. His baseline spin to finish over Austin was impressive. He's being aggressive and taking it at him." Word is that Drummond came in with something to prove; he's long been considered the top prospect in the class of 2012, but apparently did not like Rivals ranking Austin ahead of him in their latest top 150.
