Friday Morning Dump

- Luke Winn's power rankings. Must-read.

- Kansas State is in the midst of a downward spiral. They are 0-2 in the conference and Jacob Pullen continues to say all the wrong things. After the team's eight-point home-loss to Colorado, Pullen proclaimed that if they make the N.I.T., he won't be playing. Speaking of K-State, Matt Jones notes that the Wildcats just weren't ready for the spotlight. K-State has to be considered the biggest disappointment of the season, right?

- Dickie-V provides his opinion on Duke's first loss of the season

- Gary Parrish, like the rest of us, is struggling to predict a SEC East champion

- The father of the girl accusing a Washington basketball player of rape is pretty upset the player is still playing. And apparently, they went to a liquor store together. Is he over 21?

- Jeff Eisenberg explains why we really shouldn't be too shocked at Duke loosing to Florida State

- Matt Jones also lets us know that he enjoys a pastime that many of us also like doing: watching Duke lose

- Andy Katz provides solid insight on how Arizona's weekend game meant more than just in the rankings

- Jason King breaks down the ins-and-outs of the Big-12

- Nick Fasulo debriefs us on the week's worth of action. He comments on Pitt's offensive efficiency and Wisconsin's "Ravishing Red" Mike Bruesewitz

- Missouri has about 10 days to get Tony Mitchell cleared to play if they want to enroll him in class.

- Dave Hess of The Audacity of Hoops has joined Rob Dauster and our good buddy Mike Miller as a writer for NBC's Beyond the Arc

- Robert Morris guard Karon Abraham has waived his right to a preliminary hearing on drunken driving and other charges

- Virginia Tech's Ben Boggs is transferring to Valparaiso

- Former Kansas official pleads guilty in ticket scam

- The Pac-10 reprimanded UCLA's Josh Smith for his remarks on referees

- Marquette procured their first commit in the class of 2012

- A interesting take on the North Carolina State coaching position. Since Sidney Lowe has taken over, there has been much talk about wether or not Herb Sendak should still be coaching there

- Is San Diego State for real? Eric Angevine gives us five reasons why he thinks they are. One of the reasons San Diego State has been so good is that they have big men who can make plays

- Some mid-January awards handed out for the Big East Conference

- Part four of Lost Letterman's series on Oak Hill Academy. They detail how the boarding school turned into "NBA High"

- For the second time this season, New Mexico's arena, The Pit, had to be evacuated because the fire alarm was set off. Right before halftime against Colorado State on Wednesday night, a fan pulled the alarm and the entire arena had to be evacuated

- If there is anything to deduce from mid-major conference play thus far, it's that the Horizon League is really unpredictable

- Can somebody tell me what is happening to Kansas State and Georgetown?

- Cleveland Melvin is doing a lot better than freshman in the Big East normally do

- I'm sure all of you heard that Duke lost to Florida State on Wednesday. Nolan Smith thinks that the tape is now out on how to beat the Blue Devils

- Beating Duke is huge for Florida State, but they shouldn't rely on one victory carrying them to the tournament

- Maryland plays Villanova this weekend, which is basically their last chance at a solid non-con resume-builder

- This is kinda cool: What type of ACC fan are you?

- Syracuse fans are not happy with the ticket situation for the Georgetown game. Apprently when something like this happens, t-shirts need to be made

- So apparently, we're just going to have to deal with the awful Big-10 conference names

- One of the most politically-incorrect lists you see all-season (but I love it): The all-ginger team

A bounce-pass alley-oop with a man on you? Dude's got some stones
