Tuesday Morning Dump

- Today's must-read comes courtesy of Gary Parrish, who spoke anonymously to ten D-I coaches, trying to determine why, and how many, illegal phone calls are made on the recruiting trail. Its a really, really interesting read.

- Also a good read is Eamonn Brennan's open letter to college coaches regarding those very phone calls.

- The LA Times had a really good article on Steve Lavin over the weekend. Perhaps the best anecdote in the entire story is Lavin recanting how John Wooden knew that Lavin's now-wife, then-girlfriend was the one he would marry.

- Wake Forest's Tony Woods has been suspended indefinitely after being arrested for assaulting his girlfriend over Labor Day weekend. Woods could be in big trouble if he is convicted. Reports say that he fractured his girlfriend's spine, and did it in front of his one year old child.

- Andy Katz's Daily Word yesterday was about how Syracuse and Duke functioned this summer with Coach K and Jim Boeheim coaching Team USA in Turkey. My favorite part was this quote from Steve Wojciechowski regarding Coach K:

He's got a cell phone where he not only now can receive calls but also make them.
I guess he's wasn't one of the coaches violating the phone call rule.

- Jeff Goodman caught up with Marquette and Buzz Williams. The Golden Eagles are going to have one of the better back courts in the country once again next season.

- Vote for the ultimate high school mixtape.

- All of the Ivy League's schedules, rosters, and recruiting classes have been released.

- This is a bit of a stretch. I'm curious where this guy got his numbers from...

- Miladin Kovacevic, the Serbian forward that played at Binghamton, is expected to reach a plea deal in a trial regarding his assault on a Binghamton student. If you don't remember the story, read this.

Oregon State's Jared Cunningham has some serious hops:
