Monday Morning Dump

- Really good stuff here from Gary Parrish on a Chattanooga basketball player's story form Katrina.

- Most everyone agrees that the biggest hit to Tennessee as a result of Friday's admission by Bruce Pearl is not going to be on his wallet -- although, that $1.5 million probably will hurt. The general consensus seems to be that recruiting as a result of bans on off-campus bans Pearl and his staff face will be the biggest obstacle. Thus far, however, Tennessee has been lucky. Chris Jones and Kevin Ware, two guards Tennessee has received commitments form tin the class of 2011, have not wavered on their decisions. In addition, Jakarr Sampson, a 6'8" forward out of LeBron's high school, is still considering the Vols. Speaking of Tennessee, at least one coach isn't offering any forgiveness.

- In other recruiting news, Deuce Bello and Quincy Miller will be visiting Baylor on October 2nd while Cincinnati landed Shaquille Thomas, the nephew of Tim Thomas.

- Good find by the guys over at Rush The Court, digging up this article from Temple's Economics Department on point shaving in college hoops. We didn't have a chance to give it a read yet, but here is their take on it.

- Cool story about how a Villanova player returned after he thought his playing career was finished.

- Originally, it seemed as if both Colorado and Utah were going to be joining the Pac-10 for the 2011-2012 season. But, do to financial issues, it now appears as if Colorado will have to wait until 2012-2013.

- Its official -- Michael Dunigan is leaving Oregon for Israel.

- Goodman caught up with Georgia Tech's Paul Hewitt, while Katz spoke with Cincinnati's Mick Cronin.

- I am a big fan of Q-and-A's with players and coaches, and this weekend brought us a couple of good ones -- Kris Joseph and Brad Stevens.

- Good story from the Louisville Courier-Journal on John Calipari, who stopped during his book tour to wish a 102 year old Kentucky season ticket holder a happy birthday.

- Da'Sean Butler's childrens story is now illustrated.

- Ater Majok working out in DC?

- Sentencing delayed in the Kansas ticket scandal.
