- As I'm sure you have heard by now, Isiah Thomas, the former NBA GM and current head coach at Florida International, has taken on work as a part-time, paid-consultant for the New York Knicks. Needless to say, those in Miami -- who just watched Thomas lead FIU to a stellar 7-25 season -- aren't too thrilled. The question that most have asked is regarding to the incredibly obvious conflict of interest. How can a college coach legally be on the payroll of an NBA team? Well, according to Dana O'Neil, its not the NCAA's call to make; its FIU's. And you wonder why people call that institution a farce.
- Hopefully, this will be the last time we talk about Rick Pitino in regards to the Karen Sypher trial. Pitino spoke with Andy Katz, which seems to be the first step in his attempt to clear up his image. In other news, Sypher has claimed that Pitino's fame and popularity made for an unfair trial in Louisville.
- You've heard about the issues that Josh Selby is having, as he has yet to be cleared by the NCAA. Gary Parrish explains why.
- Rakeem Christmas, who may just be the best center in the class of 2011, has committed to Syracuse. While we're on the subject of recruiting, Jeff Borzello took time away from tanning to catch up with the uncommitted top ten recruits.
- The most unlikely finish of the 2009-2010 season. I remember this game when it happened.
- Former Dayton recruit lands at Ball State.
- Jim Calhoun has coached plenty of stars in his time at UConn. Many of them returned over the weekend for an alumni game.
Great story here, as Jason Hall, who has just three fingers on each hand, has earned a basketball scholarship to Kentucky Wesleyan, a great D2 program.
Holy smokes...
