Tuesday Morning Dump

I want to touch on one non-hoops-related link before we get started with your Tuesday dose of Morning Dumpage.

If you haven't already heard, A member of Virginia's men's lacrosse team is being charged with the murder of a member of the Virginia women's lacrosse team.

As a former college lacrosse player and avid fan of the sport and it's progression, this news deeply saddens me. I would just like to send my most heart-felt condolences to the victim's family, and the remaining members of the Virginia lacrosse program.

- Tim Welsh is out at Hofstra having never even coached a practice. Welsh officially resigned, but he likely didn't have a choice. I don't really feel bad for Welsh in this situation; he decided to drive drunk, he got caught, and now he has to pay the consequences. I do feel bad for his players and his assistant coaches, however.

- New Appalachian State coach Jason Capel is a man on a mission

- Rutgers finally has themselves a head coach, and it's Bobby Mo's Mike Rice. Good hire by Rutgers.

- Despite the huge new TV deal, the players won't likely see any of the tournament revenue money

- New Oregon coach Dana Altman brings more to the table than you would expect. He also landed his first recruit at Oregon.

- Duke has a chance to repeat? Really? I had no idea...

- Gary Parrish on knuckleheads

- Northeastern coach gets six-year extension

- Coach Calipari would be "shocked" if Orton/Bledsoe decide to stay in school (I mean, did you see the team GPA? I'd be perplexed if they choose books over bankroll too)

- Murphy Holloway is transferring, but his destination is unsure

- As most of us suspected, John Sloan -- a back up point guard for Huntingdon University in Alabama (D3) -- entered his name into the draft as a joke

- Iowa State reserve guard Carlos Charles Boozer is leaving the team. He was arrested over the weekend

- Indiana is looking to land 7-foot-1 JuCo transfer

- RTC on the play-in games

- You won't be betting on college sports in Delaware anytime soon

- If this guy ends up at a D-1 school next year, he will be a lead-pipe-lock for the 2010-2011 All-Name-Team

- This is how the Coach Cal/Terrence Jones phone call went down...maybe... (Seriously, we need more stuff like this. It's the off-season after all!)

- SBnation's mock-draft

- After his showstopping performance in the tournament, I'm pretty sure "The Sultan of Swish" can find himself a job

- An update on Herb Pope's condition

- Kentucky fans read between the rain-soaked lines; Does anybody outside of UK like Kentucky? (Thanks to this, I don't think the Seattle Times is going under any time soon)

- Andy Katz explains how the committee will deal with 68 teams next year

- Well played RTC, well played

- Championship game rematch slated to take place in December
