Tennessee Update

The Volunteers are fresh off of a win over then-No. 1 Kansas at Thompson-Boling Arena, and the good news kept rolling in late last night.

If anyone watched Seth Davis's show on CBS College Sports, then you heard Bruce Pearl talking about the three players that remained suspended.

"All three of them do have a chance to return this season," Pearl told Davis in regards to Cameron Tatum, Brian Williams, and Melvin Goins. "I think that perhaps by the end of this week we will have enough information to know when exactly they will return."

Maybe now we know why he seems so optimistic.

We all know that Tyler Smith has copped to the gun. Its why he was dismissed from the team.

But now, Brian Williams has apparently claimed the weed. Tatum and Goins have both passed drug tests since the arrest, a source to Gary Parrish, which only further supports that claim.

The source expects the charges to be dropped against Tatum and Goins, and their negative drug tests makes a quick return to the court a possibility. Williams may still have a chance to return, but he faces a longer suspension.

Parrish said all four must face the school's judiciary committee before they are reinstated.

Tennessee pays Auburn at home on Thursday.
