Bracket:
#7 Tulsa vs. #10 East Carolina
Winner plays #2 UAB
#6 UTEP vs. #11 SMU
Winner plays #3 Houston
#8 Marshall vs. #9 Tulane
Winner plays #1 Memphis
#5 Southern Miss vs. #12 Rice
Winner plays #4 UCF
Favorite - Memphis. Best team in the conference, maybe the best in the country.
Sleepers - The knock on the C-USA all year has been the lack of quality teams behind Memphis. UAB and Houston, both solid teams that have a chance to earn an at-large bid if they can make a run in the tournament, are probably the only two teams with a legitimate chance to knock off the Tigers. UTEP also has the ability to make a run, led by Stefon Jackson, the conference's leading scorer at 24.4 ppg.
Most Intriguing Match-up - If UTEP can get by SMU, then the Miners will take on Houston pitting Robert McKiver , who averages 23.3 ppg and put up the NCAA season high 52 earlier this season, and Stefon Jackson, two on the country's best scorers, against each other other.
My Pick - I was going to pick UAB to win the auto-bid - until they lost to Memphis by 38 on Saturday.
