Wednesday's Shootaround: Kentucky survives, Missouri rolls, and 10 triples in a game?

Seton Hall 75, No. 8 UConn 63: See here

No. 11 Michigan State 63, No. 19 Wisconsin 60: See here

No. 2 Kentucky 73, Arkansas-Little Rock 51: Why is this score notable in any way? Because UALR, who is 5-11 and was missing their best player for this game, was up 30-27 at the half. Kentucky eventually woke up and put the Trojans away, but the fact that Kentucky slept for a half of basketball is noteworthy. Yes, this is a textbook letdown game -- rivalry games against Louisville on New Year's Eve, SEC play kicking off on Saturday -- but what happens if this kind of "let down" game happens against, say, LSU?

Fordham 60, No. 21 Harvard 54: This is a really nice win for Tom Pecora, especially comsidering that the Rams were coming off of a victory over Georgia Tech. This loss certainly doesn't do good to the Crimson's at-large chances and will likely end up hurting a bit more when it comes time to put the seeding together.

The rest of the top 25:

No. 6 Missouri 87, Oklahoma 49: Ok, Missouri. I get it. You guys are mad that people are still doubting you. But there is no need to go and embarrass Oklahoma like that. For what its worth, Oklahoma is not great, but they certainly aren't bad this season. Hell, there is a chance the Sooners could compete for a spot on the bubble with a strong conference season. Oh, and Mizzou? People will stop questioning you if you do this at Kansas State on Saturday.

No. 7 Ohio State 71, Nebraska 40: Jared Sullinger had 19 points and 12 boards as the Buckeyes easily handled the Huskers, who start off Big Ten membership with three losses to three top 20 teams.

No. 10 Louisville 73, St. John's 58: The Cardinals held the Johnnies to 14.3% shooting in the first half. Seriously. 5-35. That's not very good.

No. 14 Florida 79, UAB 61: Erving Walker and Kenny Boynton combined for 45 points on 13-19 shooting from three. That's good. Patric Young got 10 shots from the field. That's good, too. Brad Beal's 2-15 performance? Pass the rock, youngin'.

No. 24 Creighton 76, Drake 59: Crisis averted. After getting knocked off at home by Missouri State, the Bluejays have bounced back with two straight wins in league play.

Other notable scores:

- Oral Roberts 89, Oakland 80
- Maryland 70, Cornell 62
- Alabama 73, Georgia Tech 48
- Ole Miss 50, SMU 48
- Iona 95, Siena 59
- New Mexico 98, Houston Baptist 61

Top performers:

Trever Releford, Alabama: Releford had 17 points on 8-8 shooting from the field in a 73-48 win over Georgia Tech.

Sean Armand, Iona: Armand came off the bench to score 32 points, hitting 10-19 from three point range as the Gaels knocked off Siena 95-59.

Greg Mangano, Yale: Mangano continued his sensational play, going for 27 points and 13 boards in a win over Holy Cross. He had averaged 23.0 ppg and 13.5 rpg in his past two games, going up against Travis McKie and Patric Young.

Somehow UK having a bad first=half, only to go on a 23-1 run to win by 22 is a 'bigger deal' than No.8 UConn losing to an awful, awful Seton Hall team.

Come on.

Good lord Kentucky fans are dumb sometimes. I'm guessing you didn't see the ENTIRE POST we wrote on UConn and Seton Hall?
