Friday Morning Dump: End of the World Edition

If the World does come to an end this weekend, consider this your final Morning Dump. It's been an honor and a privilege.

But since that's not going to happen, we will see ya'll on Monday.

- There may be no person better suited to write a "six degrees of separation" article than Luke Winn. He explains (brilliantly I might add) how the firing of John Pelphrey at Arkansas is still affecting the college hoops scene months later

- In Andy Katz's Daily Word he provides detail as to why John Calipari decided to accept the head coaching position of the Dominican Republic's national basketball team

- Earlier in the week, the match-ups for the Big Ten/ACC Challenge were announced. On Thursday the pairings for the Big East/SEC Invitational were released. This year, 12 teams from each conference will compete over the course of three days.

- The Today Show aired their piece about Maggie Hurt, the ex-Wake Forest student who said the University tried to brush her sexual assault claims "under the rug"

- Matt Norlander believes it might be beneficial for the Big Ten to start conference play a month early

- The National Hoops Report put together a great list of 10 potential sleepers in this year's draft

- Eamonn Brennan explains that NCAA President Mark Emmert is not a fan of the one-and-done

- St. John's has had problems in the past. They couldn't recruit, they could win games, they couldn't stay out of trouble. Now the Red Storm are on the up-and-up, so what's their problem?

- It is no surprise that all the talk at the NBA combine surrounding Washington State's Klay Thompson had to deal with marijuana

- Georgia's Travis Leslie will probably end up being on an NBA roster next year. But he is not waiting until then to start jawing with other pros

- Duke guard Kyrie Irving, projected as the top pick in the draft, has decided to skip the on-court tests at the NBA draft combine. Irving has also stated that he still plans on getting his college degree

- Where will Jimmer end up? The Big Lead has ten destinations in mind

- Kyle Allums, the transgendered basketball player at George Washington, has decided to call it quits on college hoops due to reoccurring injuries

- Former-Georgetown guard Vee Sanford has officially announced that he will transfer to Dayton

- Tennessee has landed former-Pitt forward Dwight Miller, who spent last season playing in junior college

- Former-UConn forward Jamal Coombs-McDaniel is sorry for his marijuana arrest and just wants to move on, which means leaving UConn

- Providence's Marshon Brooks can score. There is no question about that. He dropped 40+ on Georgetown and 50+ on Notre Dame last season. But is he worthy of a first round pick?

- Bill Self finds it preposterous that some people believe he sabotaged Josh Selby's draft stock

- Radford head coach Brad Greenberg has resigned after four seasons at the helm. Greenberg was suspended for the last four games of the season for NCAA violations tied to impermissible team travel and associated extra benefits for an ineligible player

- Last year, New Orleans made the transition from DI to DII because of athletic funding, and now the team has lost their head coach> Joe Pasternack, a former assistant at California, has been hired at Arizona to replace Archie Miller, who left to take the head coaching job at Dayton

- Assistant coaches Tony Benford of Marquette and Tavaras Hardy of Northwestern have each earned promotions to associate head coach

- Basketball Prospectus provides a detailed breakdown of the Pac-12 representatives in this year's NBA draft

- An analysis of Purdue's 2011-2012 non-conference schedule. The schedule features match-ups with Xavier, Butler, Miami and will play in the Puerto Rico Shootout

- Seton Hall has released their 2011-2012 non-conference schedule

- A pretty solid rendition of the College Hoops Bucket List. The only glaring omission I notice is The Pit at New Mexico

- Another day, another mock draft

- A hilarious recount of the NCAA tournament game between Ohio State and Kentucky
