POSTERIZED Awards: "Best 'Chestnuts' Dunk"

B.I.A.H has spent the whole season documenting the best dunks, posters, gym-jammers, rim-rockers, tip-dunks and alley-oops. With the Final-Four upon us, it is time to decide what dunks were the best of the best.

Over the course of the week, we will announce the finalists for each category, and you, the viewers, will be given a chance to vote for the winner using the interactive poll at the bottom of each post. We will also have a panel of experts vote, and the dunk with the most overall votes from judges and viewers will be declared the winner.

The 2010-2011 B.I.A.H POSTERIZED Awards continue with the"Best 'Chestnuts' Dunk of the Year"

You don't need to think very hard about why the term "Chestnuts" is used. At the risk of losing our core audience of 9-14 year-olds, we'll spare the details.

But before we continue, we must first clarify a few specifications. First, there is a substantial difference in a poster-dunk and a chestnuts-dunk. A posterization implies that the defender tried to contest the dunk with a shot-block. Giving an opponent "the chestnuts" implies that the defender went for the charge call, only to have the ball-handler leap over him, thus "chestnutting" him.

Now, that being said, some of the nominees for this category are also candidates for Dunk of the Year, but we aren't asking you to vote for Dunk of the Year right now. We want you to determine which of the following dunks featured the most brutal and humiliating display of "Chestnuts". Emphasis should be put on the actual "chestnutting". If the defender falls on his back at the first point of contact, the "Chestnuttage" is weakened.

(Remember: voting begins at the bottom of the post)

Have some patience, bro. We have more than just three categories for awards. I think you'll be happy when you see where Sheehy got nominated.
