Full schedule and announcer pairings for NCAA Tournament's first round

We are now just one day away from the actual start of the NCAA Tournament and, as such, we now have the tip times and announcer pairings for all of the tournament games. (See below.)

First, some thoughts:

- I've really enjoyed Steve Kerr in the limited work he's done. He's insightful, he knows basketball, and he's more familiar with the college guys than I expected. I more worried about his performance as a color analyst than Charles Barkley's or Kenny Smith's as a studio analyst. When it comes down to it, the play by play guys are the ones that we need to discuss the games. With the staggered starts, there won't be too much TV time for the studio guys.

- I'm torn on the draw that Gus Johnson got. On the one hand, Marquette-Xavier and George Mason-Villanova should be exciting games, and there is nothing better than a March game with Gus Jeezy on the call. That said, the other two games are Syracuse-Indiana State and Ohio State against the Alabama State-UT-San Antonio winner. If anything, Buckeye and Orange fans best be worried. Having Gus Johnson on the call is an upset waiting to happen.

- Too many good games are on truTV. Kansas State-Utah State and Wisconsin-Belmont is the most intriguing first round pod, and I'm going to have to watch it on my computer if I want to see it in HD. (But hey, at least I have truTV.) Friday's night session featuring Gus Johnson is also on truTV, which will upset the fans without the channel. Perhaps the most interesting decision, however, was that Duke's opening round game will be on truTV. I figured that would be on CBS. Duke is Duke after all.
