The big news this week in the Great Northwest was that Washington guard Abdul Gaddy tore his ACL and would be out for the remainder of the season. The sophomore had been averaging 8.5 ppg and 3.8 apg. He was also the Pac-10 leader in assist-to-turnover ratio.
Although the Huskies are the clear-cut favorite to win the Pac-10, the loss of Gaddy is huge. He had done a terrific job of opening up space for Isaiah Thomas to make plays and had become the team's best 3-point shooter.
To continue to excel, the Huskies would need somebody to step up. Nay, they would need somebody to raise the bar.
Well, Isaiah Thomas did one better. He decided to raise the roof.
Before last night's game against Oregon, Thomas tweeted that he was bringing back the only dance move better than the "cabbage patch". Yea, he was going to bring back "raising the roof". @Isaiah_Thomas2 - See yall at the game people!!! Ima bring back "Raise the roof"
Well, Thomas clearly isn't one to mince words, and after an emphatic slam, his first of the season, he indeed raised the roof. (The good stuff is at the 1:55 mark)
Thomas finished with 20 points and had nine assists, while freshman Terrence Ross scored a season-high 25 points as the Huskies rolled over the Oregon Ducks 87-69.
By "raising the roof", Thomas has rasied the bar for all other post-dunk celebrations.
