Wednesday Morning Dump

- Dave Telep, the ESPN guru of recruiting had a great-read on Kentucky-bound Anthony Davis. Telep notes how Davis literally grew into the star recruit he has become

- A great-read from Adam Zagoria on Seton Hall's Keon Lawrence. Zagoria points out that Lawrence is struggling to find the form that he displayed when he dropped 25 points on Kansas when he was a member of the Missouri basketball team

- Luke Winn has a great article on freshman who have come in and have been contributors right away. Tobias Harris and Doron Lamb are just two examples of instant impact players Winn details in this must-read

- Winn wasn't the only Sports Illustrated writer to discuss impact freshman. Jonathan Givony discuesses the freshman that are drawing NBA attention already

- With the way that Kansas is playing right now, Parrish believes the Jayhawks can afford to wait for Selby to find his groove, Jason King says Selby will make Kansas great, while Goodman cautions everyone that the addition may not net mmediate results. Eamonn Brennan uses different verbage, siting that Kansas isn't at full strength yet. Dana O'Neil says that if Selby is suppose to be the savior, what exactly does Kansas need to be saved from? I doubt we find any analyisis of last night;s Kansas game without a mention of Josh Selby

Awesome stuff from Matt Jones and Mike DeCourcey on Enes Kanter:

- Marquette has lost big man Joseph Fulce, who had just returned from a serious knee injury, after he reinjured it last night.

- Terrific stuff on Joey Rodriguez, who may be the player of the year in the CAA, who nearly transferred to a D-II school after Anthony Grant left VCU.

- Fran Fraschilla chimes in on some of college hoops hot topics

- It's going to be sorta weird to see Kentucky play at Freedom Hall when they face Notre Dame in the Big East/SEC Invitational. I mean, imagine if the Yankees played their home games at Fenway Park?

- DeAndre Liggins contemplated leaving Kentucky at the end of Billy Gillespie's tumultuous reign. John Calipari didn't think Liggins could shoot and was told to let him go. But three years later, the senior leader is garnering praise from his head coach

- What the hell is happening out in Dayton, Ohio? Yes they are 7-2 but they have a loss to East Tennessee State, a 34 point loss to Cincinnati, and have two 2-point wins against Savannah State and now Central Connecticut State.

- The World Wide Leader devised a method of ranking the 31 Division-I conferences that factors in all the major ratings systems, as well as the RPI

- The Mid-Majority provides a brief history of red-line upsets as well as it's mid-major top-ten list

- Arizona's Derrick Williams is playing as well as anybody in the country not-named-Kemba Walker. Last season's Pac-10 Freshman of the Year is in the process of launching his NBA draft stock in to orbit. Take a look at a solid scouting report on the 6-foot-8 forward

- Matt Norlander, the man behind College Hoops Journal, is taking his talents to CBS Sports. Norlander was a contributor for The Dagger as well as a frequent guest on Jeff Goodman's blog. We wish Matt the best. And don't you dare forget about us when you are sitting pretty with Gary Parrish and Gregg Doyel.

- One of the reasons that Pittsburgh is off to such a good start, aside from having players who can effectivly run their coach's style of offense, is the dominant rebounding effort they have shown. Oh yeah, Ashton Gibbs is pretty good. He's another reason why Pitt is ranked third in the country.

- Former UConn star Art Quimby passed away on Tuesday at the age of 77

- Louisiana Tech forward Darius Redding has been deemed academically ineligible and will be sidelined for the remaineder of the winter quarter. He would be able to return as early as February 26th when the Bulldogs face San Jose State.

- Iona's Mike Glover is starting to pill up the hardware

- College Chalk Talk is the place to go if you are looking for a view inside the minds of college basketball coaches
