Tuesday's Pregame Beat: Tennessee and Louisville provide the lone excitment tonight

Another light day in the college hoops world, although ESPN U will be airing a couple of interesting matchups that will be worth your time.

7:00 pm: Oakland @ No. 7 Tennessee: Is there a hotter team in the country right now then Tennessee? The Vols were picked fourth in the SEC East this season after losing a number of key pieces off of their team last season and dealing with a myriad of off-the-court issues, but they have risen to No. 7 in the country after their dominating win over Pitt of Saturday. Oakland isn't a bad team, however. They gave Michigan State all they could handle on Saturday, losing by a point, and have an NBA caliber big man in the middle in Keith Benson. Personally, I'm excited to watch Benson play as tonight will be the first time this season that I have had a chance to watch the big man with my full attention.

9:00 pm: Drexel @ No. 21 Louisville: The Cardinals had a rough offseason, dealing with injuries, ineligible recruits, and Rick Pitino's Lifetime movie. But Drexel may have had it worse. Two of their players, including their starting point guard and leading scorer from last season, were arrested for armed robbery over the summer. The Dragons are off to a great start as well, going 6-1, and while its not against the greatest competition, a 6-1 start for a team dealing with that turmoil is impressive.

Other Notable Games:

  • 8:00 pm: North Florida @ No. 25 Texas
  • 7:00 pm: North Carolina Central @ Michigan
  • 7:00 pm: Georgia Southern @ Cincinnati
  • 8:00 pm: Alabama State @ Mississippi State
  • 10:00 pm: UC Riverside @ St. Mary's
