Missouri point guard Michael Dixon has been suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules.
"We have high standards for how we expect our young men to carry themselves," Anderson said in a statement. "Michael didn't meet those standards, therefore he is suspended indefinitely."
Dixon has become a very important player for the Tigers. The starting point guard, he's a good defender that has been key in Mizzou's two biggest games of the season. Apparently, his violation wasn't too serious. The Kansas City Star article linked above says it is not believed to involve breaking the law, and Jeff Goodman tweeted out earlier that Dixon is expected to be back by the Dec. 22nd Illinois game.
There is a sliver lining here, however. Phil Pressey is a really talented freshman point that hasn't had much of a chance to run this team. In Dixon's absence Pressey will have that chance.
