- Today's must-read comes from Andy Glockner, who relives last season's most impressive individual feat -- the 34 point performance that Montana's Anthony Johnson had in the second half of the Big Sky Tournament final, sending the Grizzlies to the NCAA Tournament despite being down 20 at the half. He also had a chance to catch back up with Weber State, the team that blew the 20 point lead.
- Good read from Jeff Eisenberg on Chandler Parsons.
- You all should be well-aware that I love lists. I love reading them and I love creating them. AOL Fanhouse came up with this dandy-of-a-list: The All-Time All-Injury Team
- Of course Rick Pitino wouldn't make the same mistake twice, right? Rick Bozich wonders why on Earth Pitino offered Tony Woods a scholarship.
- I'm anointing Jacob Pullen "The People's Champion". Why you ask? 1) He's the man and 2) He keeps his beard because it's what the people want.
- Jeff Goodman spent Monday watching Bruce Weber's Illinois team practice. The Illini have talent, but they will need leadership in order to be successful in the always-deep Big-Ten
- The fifth installment of Rush the Court's series on Life as a Mid-Major.
- Goodman also had a chance to take a video tour of Kansas' head coach Bill Self's office. Its bigger than my apartment.
- Barry Larkin's son Shane is a top 100 point guard prospect, and last night he committed to DePaul. Another top 100 point guard, Jabarie Hinds, popped last night as well, picking West Virginia over UConn and a few others. All told in the last week, five top 100 point guards have made their college decision.
- Speaking of West Virginia, Bob Huggins is going to take his "Huggy Bear" nickname to a whole new level.
- Doug Gottlieb explains (only to insiders, sorry) that the time is now for six particular teams.
- Mike Miller gives us four programs that are starting to fall apart
- Miller also discusses the realistic expectations of a Duquesne team coming off of a 16-16 season
- If that wasn't enough, Miller also had time to discuss an expectation that's not realistic at all: trying to fill the shoes left by "The Sultan of Swish" Ali Farokhmanesh.
- Despite having high expectations for the upcoming season, Memphis head coach Josh Pastner remains grateful for his opportunity.
- Utah State head coach Stew Morrill has been adamantly against playing BCS-conference schools on the road in a one-and-done situation. Matt Norlander wonders why Morrill scheduled a one-and-done game at Georgetown?
- A solid preview on Colorado, a team on the up-and-up. They likely won't contend for a Big-12 title in their final season with the conference, but don't be surprised if they are able to beat some pretty good teams and make a run at an NCAA Tournament spot.
- St. John's Justin Burrell broke his hand and is out a month.
- An interview with George Mason head coach Jim Larranaga from the Colonial Athletic Conference media day.
- Coaches tab Old Dominion as the favorite to win the Colonial Athletic Conference.
- Need a way to boost attendance and school morale? Give student section tickets away for free. That's what Stanford is doing
- UC-Irvine (Home of the anteaters) coach Russell Turner apparently stole the Midnight Madness show with an emphatic slam. I'm pretty sure he is the only coach to dunk during a Midnight Madness this year
- This has got to be treason, blasphemy, or at a minimum, shenanigans.
