LaShawn Talbert, the man behind the "John Wall Dance" was murdered over the weekend

LaShawn "Sugar Shizz" Talbert, the 28-year-old budding hip-hop artist who inspired John Wall to create the "John Wall Dance" was shot in the head last Thursday in Louisville. He was taken to University Hospital, but was pronounced dead on Saturday.

The world is a cruel and violent place. But In just 28 years on this planet, Talbert provided the material necessary to start a "macarena-esque" level of dance fever. He inspired a world-wide phenomenon. but even if Talbert is no longer with us, his inspiration and legacy will be here forever.

As a Washington, D.C. native and resident, I will be seeing the fruits of Talbert's labor for years to come. Hundreds of thousands of people have "done the flex" and "done the John Wall" but very few, if any know why it was started or where it came from.

But, in honor of Mr. Talbert, we have compiled some of the best "Do The Shizz" impressions.

"Do the Shizz"

How it all got started

The original "John Wall Dance" music video (This should have been Shizz's)

"Bang On 'em, Flex on 'em, do the John Wall"

Volunteers flex it after beating Kentucky

One of the many "John Wall Dance" remixes

Magic Johnson flexes the "John Wall muscle"

Kentucky's hottest super-fan does the "John Wall"

Drake does the Shizz "John Wall Dance"

The "John Wall Dance" on Ice

Members of Villanova's National Championship football team (FCS) do the Shizz "John Wall Dance"

Washington's Brandon Banks beat Ochocinco to the punch

It is a shame that few people, if any, realize the impact that Talbert had on society.

He will be missed.

I very sorry for the loss of Lashawn, I watch the first 48 all the time and I watched the episode of how he passed away andit was so stupid for the guy 2 kill him that way. It made me want to cry seeing Lashawn dance to his music it showed he was proud and happy, also living his life as any other person. No one deserves to die the way he did..over ruthless stuff. May god love him while he is in heaven...god bless his heart.
Also I wanted 2 say I downloaded his songs to my phone so it will be with me forever when he is not. Sorry for the loss and may his kids live for him

I saw this episode on the First 48 also and have been watching the youtube videos almost everyday since. I can't believe that he's gone. He was so good at doing the shizz. It just seems like you can just pick up the phone and call him and say, "what's up." This was really sad. Cause it looked like old dude he was in the car with set him up. And for what? Shizz is just gone now. So, so sad for his kids and his family. RIP

it still doesnt seem real. I didnt even know himor the dance, but he seemed like one of the coolest people you would every want to be around. His essence just seemed magnetic! May God keep his mother strong. MY heart broke for her on the program. His friend was grimy for setting up that situation. But it goes to show you that when you are rising, hater MUST pull you down, so people please beware and keep Shizz spirit alive always!
