Do you remember what I wrote yesterday about Nolan Richardson and Billy Gillispie?
No?
Well, in summation, my point was that Nolan Richardson was never going to get another job unless he made people believe he was going to play by the rules. It doesn't matter if he actually will, but simply making a potential employer believe you aren't going to be a pain in the ass is the first step towards getting a job offer.
Billy Gillispie, on the other hand, was telling everyone what they wanted to hear in interviews. He was making them believe that he was new man. Whether or not he's decided t lay off the booze is a completely different story.
And now Gillispie, not even five months off his latest DUI arrest (I believe that's three, if you're scoring at home), is rumored to be a candidate for the DePaul job.
Seriously.
Billy Gillispie made people think he was ready to play by the rules, and may end up getting a job out of it.
Why can't Nolan Richardson?
