Monday's Pregame Beat

Another quiet night on the hoops front.

7:00 pm: DePaul @ Pitt: DePaul has struggled since an impressive start to the season, but this is still a Big East foe for Pitt, who is finally at full strength with Jermaine Dixon healthy and Gilbert Brown academically eligible.

8:30 pm: Rutgers @ North Carolina: Carolina will be heading into this game shorthanded as Marcus Ginyard will once again be in street clothes due to a bum ankle. Rutgers may not be primed for an upset, as they will be without second leading scorer Gregory Echinique, who is done for the season after suffering a detached retina, but they are riding a six game winning streak. It will also be interesting for NBA people to see Hamady Ndiaye play against a real front line. Ndiaye is averaging 9.7 ppg, 5.6 rpg, and 5.7 bpg, but is averaging 14.3 ppg, 10.0 rpg, and 8.3 bpg in his last four without Echinique.

9:00 pm: BYU @ Arizona: The Cougars have been playing great basketball of late and are sitting at 12-1 with a couple nice wins over Arizona State, Nevada, and Nebraska. Arizona is young this season and has had the struggles that come with that, but they have gotten Kevin Parrom and Jamelle Horne back from injuries.

10:05 pm: Portland @ Nevada: The Pilots have struggled since their fantastic start to the season, but with the number of shooters they have on their roster, this is a team that is always primed for an upset. It is worth tuning in to see Luke Babbitt play for Nevada The 6'9" lefty is one of the best players you've never seen play.
