Contact period begins today

I spent the whole day traveling, and thus whiffed on this pretty big piece of news: today marks the beginning of the contact period.

What's a "contact period"?

During this time, a college coach may have in-person contact with you and/or your parents on or off the college's campus. The coach may also watch you play or visit your high school. You and your parents may visit a college campus and the coach may write and telephone you during this period.
Essentially, for the next 27 days coaches are allowed to make in-home visits to kids they are recruiting. So coaches from all over with be logging quite a few miles during September as they fly across the country to break bread with some of the nation's best high school talent.

If you browse through Zagsblog, you will find the in-home visit schedule of quite a few of the blue chip recruits.
