BIAH Flashback: Memphis vs. Louisville 2005

Games are won and lost at the free throw line. Players spend hours upon hours practicing free throws. Freshman Darius Washington went to the foul line with zeros on the clock, down by two, having three shot attempts, with nobody else on the blocks, with a chance to earn his team the C-USA crown and a ticket to the big dance. He nailed the first one. Then what did the freshman guard do? He looked over to his bench and mouthed "I got this".

He didn't. He banked the next two off the rim and fell to his knees.

There's probably no worse way to go then missing a foul shot to extend or win the game with no time remaining. Washington decided to go pro after his sophomore year and was never really heard of again.
