Martin Ngaloro, a 6'8" French forward that would have been a freshman for Memphis this season, injured his knee in a workout in France last week. He informed Tiger coach Josh Pastner via email that the injury would likely keep him out of uniform this season.
This is another blow to the Tigers, who earlier this summer lost top 20 recruit Latavious Williams to a pro league in China.
Since Elliot Williams, the Duke transfer, has yet to be granted a release by the NCAA allowing him to play this season, Memphis was left with just seven scholarship players.
Pastner did pick up another recruit, however. 6'5" forward DJ Stephens (who also has a 43" vertical) has signed with the Tigers. Previously, he was planning on attending a JuCo.
