I put together a list of the player's named in the Mitchell Report.

A couple thought on this:
-There's a lot of names on this list that were all-star caliber players for a couple of years but fell off VERY quickly, usually after scoring a big contract.
Kevin Brown: Terrible with the Yankees
Brendan Donnelly: Never as good as he was with Anaheim
Eric Gagne: Did you see him in Boston last year
Jason Giambi: Fell off in pinstripes
Juan Gonzalez: I think he still may be under contract
Todd Hundley : Hit 40 bombs, two years later hit .207
Chuck Knoblauch: Horrendous with the Yanks (see a trend forming here?)
Denny Neagle: Went to Colorado and couldn't get anyone out
Miguel Tejada: Maybe he just wasn't inspired playing in Baltimore, but didn't he used to be on of the best hitters in baseball?
Mo Vaughn: May be the Angels biggest mistake ever
-I find it interesting that Miguel Tejada is named in the Mitchell Report and Rafael Palmeiro isn't. Maybe Raffy was telling the truth all along? I hope so, I always like him.
-Mitchell names both Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens - probably the best hitter and best pitcher of this generation. There have been rumors swirling around both of them for awhile now so there inclusion was no suprise, and 45 year olds aren't supposed to be professional athletes, but it still is kind of demoralizing knowing that the greatest to play the game were juicing.
-I'm still torn about how exactly I feel about steroids. Yes, it is cheating, but then again when I pay out the ass for a ticket to these games, I want to see something incredible. How can I say I want to see someone hit the ball 500 feet or throw 102mph (both phenomenal physical feats), but then crucify that same person when they try to do that? Sports, at the professional level, is essentially entertainment for us, so if these guys want to risk their health for millions of dollars and a chance a worldwide fame, should I really have a problem with that if they put on a better show? What if is it a Yankee and his steroid use helped bring home a World Series (which it looks like happened with at least some of them if you look at the names above)?
By biggest problem with steroids is the trickle-down effect. 14 and 15 year old kids are going to start using these drugs. These kids are still borderline too young to lift weights, and they are emulating baseball stars and using these drugs? Google the name Taylor Hooton and you tell me if it is a good thing kids that age use steroids.
