The best story of the day

This is not a new video, and if you are an avid college hoops fan, you've likely already seen it.

But I don't care, because it is more than worth posting.

That right there is Eric Valentin. He's a 5'4" guard at Wisconsin-Green Bay. Heading into his senior year, he was a walk-on for three years. But coach Brian Wardle decided it was time for "EV" to be put on scholarship. And that's a helluva way to let him know. (Jeff Eisenberg caught up with Valentin here.)

The ironic part of all of this is that I have a sneaking suspicion that Valentin will make a difference at some point this season. You see, the he has an uncanny ability to knockdown half court shots. In fact, he's a world record holder when it comes to shooting from half-court. If life were a movie, Valentin would see his first action of the season in some criticial game, coming in with 1.2 seconds left on the clock and hitting the game-winning half-court bomb.

RU-DY! RUUUU-DY! RUUUU-DY!
