After an unbelievable championship week, we have finally arrived at NCAA tournament time. This afternoon the brackets were released, and guess who was a perfect 65-65 in predicting the field. Yup, this guy. Lunardi was 64-65. I mean, Creighton over Arizona?. Come on, Joe. I doubt he will ever see that, as he is probably headed back to whatever hole he crawls out of each February.
Anyway, here is the field:
Over the next three days, we are going to be inundating with an absurd of amount of bracket analysis, but until then here are just a few quick thoughts on the bracket:
- Others do, but I have no qualms with who got into the dance and who was left out. Seth Davis and Greg Anthony were peppering Mike Slive with question about St. Mary's and Creighton and what not. Bottom line - why if the mid-majors didn't get in if they weren't as deserving as high-majors?
- Wake Forest is going to be a tough match-up for Louisville in the sweet 16.
- Likewise for Pitt with the OK State-Tennessee winner in the second round.
- The East could be upset central - Wisconsin over Florida State, VCU over UCLA, and American over Villanova all seem possible.
- The two best player match-ups of the first round will be James Harden of ASU versus Dionte Christmas of Temple and Sherron Collins of Kansas and Ben Woodside of North Dakota State.

look at this guy, a college basketball sage.
For some reason, I really think Gonzaga and Arizona State could make some noise. ASU would have a potential 2nd round matchup against Syracuse, which is a tough on but i still got to go with ASU.
And if 'Cuse hadnt had such a energy-draining B.E.T, I might have picked them to go to the Final 4.
But James Harden is a freak. i think hes right behind Blake Griffin for player of the year.
Dont sleep on ASU
