Championship Week is over and it is time for us to start the NCAA Tournament. I don't know what you guys are going to do all day tomorrow without college hoops to watch all day? I would suggest resting up, because Thursday will kick off what is always the best four days of the year.
Here is a quick recap of Sunday's action.
GAME OF THE DAY: Purdue 65, Ohio State 61
Ohio State was up by five at the half, but squandered the lead amidst a 15-5 run by Purdue with 11 minutes to go in the game. However, Purdue went cold down the stretch, Robbie Hummel only had 9 points in the game, not making a basket for five minutes down the stretch, where Ohio State chipped away at the lead. But with 45 seconds left Purdue's Keaton Grant hit a 3-pointer to put the Boilermakers up 5, and Ohio State could not get the desperation 3's to go in, as Purdue wins the Big 10 Championship 65-61.Chris Kramer and the Boilermakers came back to beat the Buckeyes in the Big 10 final.

PLAYER OF THE DAY: Jon Scheyer, Duke
He was 6-10 from the field and 13-15 from the foul line, scoring 29 points in Duke's 79-69 win over Florida State in the ACC title game. Scheyer, who was named Tournament MVP sparked Duke's final run with a 3-pointer just as FSU was trying to get back in the game in the second half. Scheyer only missed twice from behind the arch, and contributed 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Scheyer averaged 22 points in Duke's 3 tournament wins. Gerald Henderson also added 27 points in the finals win. This is Duke's ninth ACC title in twelve years. But take heed - the last 4 times the Blue Devils won the ACC crown, they went on to lose in the Sweet 16.Jon Scheyer celebrates his ACC tourney MVP.

TEAM OF THE DAY: Mississippi State Bulldogs
MSU punched their ticket to the big dance and bursted at least one team's bubble in their 64-61 win over top-seeded Tennessee in the SEC tournament final. The victory was the sixth straight for Mississippi State, which entered the tournament needing a to win the auto bid. The game was back-an-forth for nearly all 40 minutes, and each team held the lead at least five times. MSU's Phil Turner scored 7 of his 12 points in the last 90 seconds of the game, and hit the go ahead 3-pointer with under 30 seconds remaining. He also grabbed 10 rebounds in the victory. Tournament MVP Jarvis Varnado added 10 points, 7 boards, and 6 blocks in the win. This was MSU's first SEC title since 2003.
