CINCINNATI, OH - Ron Everhart knows a thing or two about underrated point guards.

When he was at Northeastern, he had a 5'10" point guard running his team that was averaging 21.0 ppg and 8.4 apg. But that was Northeastern, which, like Duquesne, is a bit off the beaten path for NBA scouts. Everhart thought he deserved more attention nationally, and he ended up being right: that 5'10" point guard played a major role in dethroning King James back in June.

And they say basketball players aren't tough...

Duquesne is a team that most expect to finish somewhere in the middle of the pack in the Atlantic 10. While they lost point guard Aaron Jackson, the Dukes brought back three of their top four leading scorers.

The best of that group might be Melquan Bolding, a 6'5" sophomore. Bolding was coming off of a solid freshman campaign where he averaged 9.9 ppg, boosting that number to 14 in the A-10 tourney as Duquesne reached the finals.

Bolding proved his worth in the Dukes opener, as he was their leading scorer with 25 points in a 85-62 win over Nicholls State.

But Bolding won't be in uniform when the Dukes play Iowa on ESPN U tonight.

He is undergoing surgery on a fractured right wrist and will be out four-to-six weeks.

Makes that 25 point performance a little bit more impressive, now, doesn't it.
