Pics/Vids: Game 3 - Xavier vs. Duquesne

Wednesday, January 11th
Cintas Center, Xavier University
Xavier 78, Duquesne 50

Game 2 - Kentucky vs. South Carolina
Game 1 - Belmont vs. Lipscomb

(Rob enters the Cintas Center along with @RickBroering of Scout.com)

(The Xavier band belted out a bunch of classics during the contest.)

(The Xavier "Popes" weren't in costume, but they support the cause, so we'll give them a pass.)

(Duquesne Players lineup for the pregame introductions.)

(Xavier center Kenny Frease chats with his teammates prior to tip-off.)

(The Musketeers get ready for the pregame introductions.)

(The Duquesne players get ready for the pregame intros.)

(The Cintas Center is one of the nicest venues in all of college sports. Just over 10,000 fans packed the house to see Xavier win their second-straight A-10 game of the season.)

(The Xavier players are introduced to the Cintas Center crowd.)

(Tip-off time at the Cintas Center)

(The match-up of the night featured Xavier's Tu Holloway and Duquesne's TJ McConnell. Holloway finished with 11 points and 11 assists, while McConnell had just four points and three personal fouls.)

(The bench cheers on another fast-break basket for the Musketeers. Xavier forced 11 turnovers and scored 15 points in transition.)

(Andre Walker had the best shoes of the night, though I'm not sure when neon-green an official color of Xavier University.)

(Eric Evans tries his hand at guarding Holloway, a preseason All-American. This was the first time since the Crosstown Shootout that the Musketeers looked dominant in all facets of the game.)

(Tu Holloway drains a 3-pointer at the buzzer to end the first half.)

(The Xavier mascot, D'Artagnan, works the crowd during halftime. I believe this fan won a free oil change)

(The size of the student section was deceiving. But the noise level wasn't.

(They were on safari....for Lyons....Get it? Mark Lyons....)

(Luckily for the Xavier students, the "Reflection classes" weren't mandatory, and the student section was packed to the brim.)

(Finally, we have video of a fan hitting a half-court shot. Unfortunately, the fan took too long to make his free throw and 3-pointer, so this didn't count. There was no #OccupyCintas unfortunately.)

(The Musketeers get ready for the second half. At halftime, they led 44-16.)

(Xavier coach Chris Mack discusses strategy with his assistants. Mack's sideline movement was limited because of a knee injury he sustained during practice earlier in the week.)

(Xavier's defense was very impressive against the Dukes. Duquesne was not allowed to get any open looks, and Xavier's length gave them fits all game.)

(Chris Mack coaches up freshman Dez Wells after a rare defensive miscue.)

(Tu Holloway and Eric Evans get chatty before an in-bounds play.)

(Best. Game-Face. Ever)

(Andre Walker and Kenny Frease cheer on the squad during the late second half. I'm not exactly sure what Walker is going for in this one.)

(Up big in the second half, the Xavier starters hit the bench to cheer on the second-team.)

(Duquense's sophomore guard TJ McConnell had a rough night. He was plagued by early foul trouble, and was a non-factor in the game. he finished with four points and four assists.)

(Mark Lyons signs autographs for some pint-sized Xavier fans after the game.)

(The #BIAHroadtrip is suitable for all ages.)
