Two FIU freshman ruled ineligible

Things are really not going well for Isiah Thomas at FIU.

Coming off of a 7-25 season, Thomas spent the summer in the headlines because of a job he initially accepted as a consultant with the New York Knicks. Then, recruit Cedrick McAfee committed to and decommitted from FIU in the span of 24 hours.

And now?

Thomas's top recruits Dominique Ferguson and Phil Taylor will miss at least the start of the season due to academic issues. Thomas still returns a senior laden group, but with out that infusion of talent, will FIU really be all that much better next season?
