Bruce Pearl to cover the NBA Draft

Bruce Pearl is nuts.

He is certifiable.

He has hit on Erin Andrews. He has sat in the student section (shirtless) for a women's game. He has been photographed (shirtless) with random coeds (multiple times). He got on stage (shirtless) with Bobby Maze and Renardo Woolridge and rapped.

Now? He will be doing NBA Draft analysis. For NBA TV. And for his blog, "Pearl's Gems" (Pearl's Gems? Really? I'll let The Dagger handle that one).

This could have been awkward if Tyler Smith had actually stayed in the draft.

Personally, I love this decision. Bruce Pearl is a character, and he is (clearly) not afraid to make a fool out of himself to draw a couple laughs. Isn't that exactly what you are looking for if you are NBA TV? To give the viewing audience an alternative to hearing Jay Bilas tell you how every big man is "long" with "tremendous upside potential"?

As if that wasn't enough, this is how he told the world of the news, via Twitter (where else?):

NBA tv invited me to be a draft analyst next week. I will be working with Kenny Smith and Steve Smith. Yes I will have a shirt on.
