The big news of the day comes from Lexington (where else): Kentucky announced that Patrick Patterson, an all-conference forward with a shot at landing late in the lottery, will be returning to school.
UK is stacked right now, especially up front, where their rotation will be Patterson, junior Perry Stevenson, and five-star recruits Daniel Orton and Demarcus Cousins. That may turn out to be the best front line in the country. UK also adds Jon Hood, Darnell Dodson (four-star recruits), and top 3 point guard recruit Eric Bledsoe, who committed to the 'Cats earlier this week.
Combine that with returners like Kevin Galloway, DeAndre Liggins, and Ramon Harris, and you have a Final Four favorite.
Now imagine if Jodie Meeks returns and Cal inks John Wall (like many expect he will).
He's been the coach for less than two months, and we may already have a dynasty brewing.
You think he was worth the $32 million?
Going beyond that, Patterson has a chance to be a first-team all-american, joining the likes of Cole Aldrich, Sherron Collins, Willie Warren, Craig Brackins, and a number of others returning to school.
One thing is for certain: 2009-2010 will not be lacking star power.
