Monday Morning Shootaround

Quick shootaround this morning. The upset of the night goes to Northwestern, who knocked off Minnesota at home 74-65. It Minnesota went up 37-31 after a Lawrence Westbrook three-pointer early in the second half, but Northwestern responded with a 16-0 run. Northwestern was led by 22 from Craig Moore.

  • UConn 76, Seton Hall 61: UConn got 23 points and 5 assists from AJ Price, and Hasheem Thabeet and Jeff Adrien combined for 28 points, 29 boards, and 6 blocks as the Huskies cruised to their fifth straight Big East win.
  • Purdue 73, Iowa 53: The Boilermakers shot 49% from the field and 10-15 from beyond the arc as they cruised to a win over the Hawkeyes.
  • Villanova 76, St. John's 57: Dante Cunningham had 17 and Dwayne Anderson 14 as the Wildcats jumped out to an early lead in winning their 24th straight home game, a team record.
  • Xavier 73, La Salle 53: The Musketeers got 16 from BJ Raymond and 15 from Derrick Brown as they cruised to their fifth straight win since losing to Butler.
  • Kentucky 68, Georgia 45
  • St. Joe's 78, Charlotte 69
  • Southern Illinois 68, Bradley 62
