Pics/Vids: Game 4: Indiana vs. Minnesota

Thursday, January 12th
Assembly Hall, Indiana University
Minnesota 77, Indiana 74

Game 3 - Xavier vs. Duquesne
Game 2 - Kentucky vs. South Carolina
Game 1 - Belmont vs. Lipscomb

(It was the perfect weather for a weekday night Big-10 Conference game.)

(The scene at Assembly Hall during shootaround)

(The view from above. The bleachers at Assembly Hall form a tower of people when full. It's rather intimidating.)

(The court at Assembly Hall was littered with various fans, staff members and players before the game.)

(The view from above during shootaround.)

(Fans start to take their seats in the lower bowl bleachers during pregame shootaround.)

(The Indiana University Hall of Fame inside Assembly Hall)

(Killer aviators bro. Gotta love when the students support the cause. #BIAHroadtrip)

(I think this picture kinda speaks for itself.)

(The Indiana band was jamming out the entire time. This guy clearly led the way.)

(The Golden Gophers goe through pregame layup lines prior to tip-off.)

(The lights dim in preparation for the Hoosiers entrance.)

(Surprisingly enough, this was one of the more-tame peices of headgear being worn in the Indiana student section.)

(The scene as captains meet at center court before the game.)

(This was only one portion of the Hoosiers student section.)

(The Indiana fans never stopped cheering. It was insane. Loudest crowd I've ever seen. I can't imagine what it was like when Kentucky game to town.)

(The view from our press seats. This was abut the most visible the court was all night.)

(Gus Johnson and Jim Jackson film their pregame segment for the Big-Ten Network.)

(Indiana has the most laid-back cheerleading uniforms ever.)

(Like I said, it was very difficult to see the court from our seats.)

(The fans sing the school fight song. There was a lot of clapping.)

(Finally we see some giant cardboard heads. It turns out that the athletic department owns all the cutouts and hands them out to students before each half.)

(The man. The myth. The legend. Gus Johnson. This trip is officially a success.)

(This is what awaited you at the charity stripe.)

(There is not a chance in hell I could have made a shot with all these people cursing and screaming at you.)

(Indiana sets up for an out-of-bounds play.)

(The Hoosier faithful cheer loud and proud for their team during the final minute of play.)

(Matt Roth and Cody Zeller take a breather during a 30-second timeout.)

(Austin Hollins had a huge day for the Gophers. He finished with 20 points on 7-for-10 shooting, including 2-for-4 from behind the arc.)

(Matt Roth hit a huge 3-pointer with 13 seconds left to get the Hoosiers within two. Unfortunately, the Gophers made their foul shots and sealed the upset victory.)

(Tom Crean instructs his team to get back on defense after a made basket.)

(Elliott Elliason guards Cody Zeller during the second half. Ralph Sampson III, the Gopher starting center, was plagued with foul trouble, which meant the freshman Elliason got an increase in minutes. He only had 2 points, but came late in crunch time. He had one of his better games of the season, logging four rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal.)

(Christian Watford, the hero against Kentucky, had a chance to do it again, but his shot was off the mark.)

(Indiana guard Verdell Jones III had one of his worst performances of the season. He went 0-for-6 and had three turnovers. The senior guard stayed in Assembly Hall for nearly two hours after the game to work on his shot.)

(Verdell Jones did this for nearly two hours after the game ended.)

(Yeah, it was really cold outside.)
