Thursday Morning Dump

- This is the must-read article of the day, the week, and probably the month: The Shame of College Sports. If you really don't want to read it all (Which, seriously, I suggest you do), then venture over to Deadspin to skim through their cliff notes on the article. Again, this article is MUST-READ

- Andy Glockner previews each of the BCS-Conference teams....in 140 characters or less

- Cal-State Bakersfield got themselves some "Smurf Turf" for the hardwood

- Mike DeCourcy provides a great-read on Victoria Sun, a former sports writer and die-hard Syracuse fan who is now the Director of Operations at Eastern Michigan (EMU's new head coach Rob Murphy, is a former-Syracuse assistant)

- Dick Vitale dishes out his list of "Dazzling Diaper Dandies"

- Dana O'Neil explains why the balance of power is back in The Ivy League. She also explains why former-Princeton star Mitch Henderson is one of the reasons why the balance is back. Speaking of The Ivy League, former-Columbia head coach Joe Jones is going to be a perfect fit for the Boston Terriers, at least that's what Andy Katz believes (And are you really going to disagree with Dr. Katz?)

- Andy Bottoms breaks down why the Detroit Titans could be one of the best Non-BCS teams in the country this season

- I remember watching this "Outside the Lines" piece when it aired in back in 2009. I'm glad this guy is getting put away

- Vanderbilt's Lance Gouldbourne was mesmerized by the tennis action that took place the past two weeks in Flushing, NY

- Gonzaga's Demetri Goodson isn't the only hoopster that's going from the hardwood to the gridiron

- Just days away from making his much awaited decision, highly-touted recruit Kevin Anderson has no idea where he wants to go

- Some changes have been made to Marathon Madness

- I've been through "Hell Week" before, and well, it was Hell. But what VCU was put through might even be worse than Hell, if you can believe it

- It's about time Oregon State's Jared Cunningham got some recognition (Even though B.I.A.H was dapping him up last year)

- According to Adam Zagoria, highly-touted recruit Mitch McGary has no plans to make a decision soon

- Virginia could be in for a breakout season, and fifth-year senior Mike Scott could be a big reason why

- Jeff Eisenberg sought out the knowledge of Big Ten Network analyst and former tOSU/NBA star Jim Jackson to help preview the Big-Ten Conference

- Texas A&M got a verbal commitment from Texas-native Alex Caruso

- Seven-foot-tall Iowa-native Adam Woodbury decided to stay in-state and attend IU

- How safe is Kansas if Expansionocalypse hits? Why on Earth would Texas go to the ACC? (They Should join the Gulf Coast Conference, not the ATLANTIC COAST Conference). It seems like Florida State doesn't really want anything to do with realignment. Speaking of Expansionocalypse, Andy Katz details the potential economic fallout if the Big-XII folds

- Damn, New Mexico State has a lot of tall players

- I love reading the interview transcripts between Washington head coach Lorenzo Romar and beat report Percy Allen. Romar always provides thoughtful responses and Allen doesn't just lob softballs. I recommend you bookmark the Seattle Time's Husky Blog

- Rush The Court provides a fantastic breakdown of Kentucky's 2011-2012 schedule

This is video of Sarah Palin back in 1987. Why is this relevant? Because in 1987, she was bone'd by Michigan sharpshooter Glen Rice (This totally made my day). Seriously, check out some of the twitter responses. I mean, this story is so big even the British tabloids have gotten a hold of it (Seriously, this story made my day. Go find Rex Chapman on Twitter if you never want to stop laughing at Sarah Palin jokes)

There is no way in Hell Aaron Gordon is only 15 years-old

I cannot tell you how long I've been waiting for somebody to put together a video like this
