Thanks to some terrific reporting from Andrew Gribble of Go Vols Xtra, you can now read through, step by step, the process with which the NCAA took down Bruce Pearl and his coaching staff at Tennessee.
First, there were the lies to the NCAA's enforcement staff. Reading through, Pearl not only lied to the NCAA but, after having the line of questioning stopped by his attorney, was given a second chance to clear the air. He maintained the lie and, as Gribble puts it, that was the beginning of the end of his tenure at Tennessee.
Also worth reading is the breakdown of the "bump", the "incidental" contact between Jordan Adams and Bruce Pearl at a practice at Oak Hill Academy. Adams initially said the conversation last upwards of three minutes, which is almost certainly an NCAA violation.
Recapping the articles anymore in this space wouldn't do justice to the work that Gribble put in. So click the links and read through. Its interesting to see how a major college coach gets taken down.
