Josh Selby misses Kansas basketball banquet

It is no secret that Josh Selby has had an eye on the NBA since his days as a high school star in Baltimore. In fact, for the past six days, Selby has been out in Las Vegas working out. That alone -- well, the question marks surrounding who is footing the bill for Selby to be out there -- should be enough to convince folks that Selby is headed to the draft.

But if that wasn't enough, Selby skipped the Kansas basketball banquet.

“I talked to (his mother) today, and that decision is coming real soon,” Kansas head coach Bill Self said. “He’s done the work he needs to do to academically pass his classes, but he’s been gone now six days. If he’s going to come back, then he’ll be coming back real soon. If not, then he won’t. But certainly he’s going to salvage the semester academically and pass his classes, which is good.”

So it looks like Selby is gone. The Morris twins have already declared for the draft and signed with agents and Brady Morningstar, Tyrel Reed, and Mario Little are graduating. That leaves Tyshawn Taylor and Thomas Robinson to carry the torch for Kansas next season.
