Thursday's Pregame Beat: The regular season sure is dying down

Its a fairly slow night in the college hoops, at least for this post, as much of the action is in the form of conference tournaments. Check the schedule for those here.

Pac-10: In a bit of a twist from what we are accustomed too, most of the important games tonight will be played out in the Pac-10:

  • 9:00 pm: UCLA @ Washington: A share of the Pac-10 title is more or less on the line for the Bruins tonight. Why? Because while they are currently tied with Arizona for first, the Wildcats are hosting the Oregon schools this weekend. Washington could very well be the best team in the Pac-10 at home, but they are actually playing to lock up a bid to the NCAA Tournament this weekend.
  • 10:00 pm: USC @ Washington State: If the Trojans can sweep the Washington schools on the road this weekend, they have a real shot of earning themselves an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.
  • 9:00 pm: Oregon State @ Arizona: Arizona simply cannot lose with the Pac-10 title on the line.
Other notable games
  • 9:00 pm: No. 10 Wisconsin @ Indiana
  • 7:00 pm: No. 15 St. John's @ Seton Hall
  • 7:00 pm: Tennessee @ South Carolina
