Darrell Williams had an eventful day

You may not have known who Darrell Williams was coming into the season -- or even coming into this week.

A JuCo transfer from Chicago, Williams is averaging 7.1 ppg and 7.3 rpg coming off the bench for Oklahoma State. Today, he was named the Big XII's newcomer of the week after averaging 16.5 ppg and 12.5 rpg as the Cowboys kept themselves in the bubble conversation with wins over Missouri and Oklahoma.

But that isn't why Williams' name will be in the headlines today. From The Oklahoman:

Oklahoma State basketball player Darrell Williams has been charged in Payne County district court with three counts of rape by instrumentation and one count of sexual battery.

The charges relate to an incident occurring Dec. 13 in Stillwater and finally shed light on an investigation that had been hovering over the program for nearly two months, since word of the assault first emerged.
That sounds less than pleasant.

Two other men were also charged, but neither of them were basketball players. Six other players were interviewed regarding the December 13th incident. There is not much information out there right now (we will update when more news comes out), but from what I can gather, two women were assaulted at a private residence. Stillwater cops have been investigating the incident since an anonymous letter was sent in claiming a sexual assault at the party.

Williams has apparently not been arrested, but will be arraigned this afternoon.
