Tuesday's Shootaround: Another day, another SEC West team struggles

Coastal Carolina 78, LSU 69 OT: We knew the SEC West was going to be bad, but this is getting downright absurd. South Carolina transfer Mike Holmes played his first game with the Chanticleers, and Chad Gray had 20 of his 22 after the half as Coastal Carolina, who won 28 games last season, downed the Tigers. I don't think its ridiculous to say this: every team in the SEC East is better than any team in the SEC West.

No. 10 San Diego State 51, Cal Poly 45: Kawhi Leonard and Chase Tapley both missed the game last night with the flu (Tapley was sent home, Leonard was on the bench and was available if he was needed), so Malcolm Thomas was the guy that stepped up and saved the day for the Aztecs in an ugly game. He had 18 points, 15 boards, and 5 blocks. The Aztecs let Poly hang around by going 0-18 from the three point line.

Wisconsin 70, Green Bay 56: After going for 22 and 8 last night, Jon Leuer is averaging 19.7 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 2.2 apg, 2.0 bpg, and shooting 51% from the floor and 48% from three. According to Kenpom's offensive ratings, the only two players that have been better this season are Kemba Walker and Derrick Williams.

Northwestern 81, Long Island 65: John Shurna went for 26 points and 7 boards as the Wildcats remained undefeated.
