Tuesday Morning Dump

- The Binghamton athletic department was notified that no NCAA violations found in the on-going investigation into suspended coach Kevin Broadus. The NCAA is closing its investigation on the school and no punishments will be doled out. Its a bit shocking, especially when you consider what the New York Times was able to dig up -- emails alleging academic fraud and the payment of players, among other things. The only finding was an assistant paying for travel expenses for a couple of players, which is a secondary violation. Broadus is looking to move forward from the investigation, but he won't be doing it at Binghamton.

- The Dagger hands out awards for the best of everything Midnight Madness.

- it was just last year that most of the media was proclaiming that the NYC college hoops scene was dead, but with the addition of Steve Lavin at St. John's, Frank Willard at Seton Hall and Mike Rice at Rutgers, big time basketball in the Big Apple may be resurrected.

- Gary Parrish lets us know who his Preseason All-Americans are. In a bit of a surprising move, Parrish picked UNC freshman Harrison Barnes to be his preseason national player of the year. Not that it isn't possible, I just, you know, disagree. I'm not sure Barnes is the kind of player that is going to take over a la Kevin Durant. And with the star power on some of the best teams in the country this season (especially the other school right down Tobacco Road) it seems like this pick is a bit of a stretch.

- Michael Loyd, the point guard that transferred out of BYU this summer, has finally spoken about why he left the school: religion.

- Adam Zagoria reports that highly-touted recruit Quincy Miller is learning towards Baylor.

- Xavier will honor the late Skip Prosser by inducting him into the school's hall of fame during the Skip Prosser Classic on Dec. 18th. The game will be played between the two team's that Prosser coached: Wake Forest and Xavier.

- West Virginia pulls in a pair of recruits. The Mountaineers had a Big Monday (Get it? like ESPN's Big Monday, which features WVU twice) getting commitments from point guard Ryan Boatright and center Adam Forsythe. You maybe remember Boatright's name. Back when he was in 8th grade he verbally committed to play for Tim Floyd at USC. I bet he's kinda glad he didn't have to sign any papers.

- Jim Boehiem is looking for leaders to emerge this season. Without Andy Rautins and Arinze Onuwaku, the Orange will look for new faces to rise to the occasion, says Matt Norlander.

- Will Barton guarantees a National Championship for Memphis. I'm not sure that's possible since BYU's Jackson Emery already guaranteed an undefeated season for BYU.

- Could former Michigan point guard CJ Lee be getting into politics?

- Midnight Madness isn't just an event to get students and fans energized about the season, it's also a recruiting tool.
