- Today's best read takes a look at the process that potential walk-ons must go through in order to make the Missouri basketball team.
- An entertaining-read on ballers who love to tweet (Including the twitter All-American Team)
- In case you haven't heard, Kansas' Josh Selby is still ineligible. But the final decision should be coming soon. In a bit of good news the Jayhawks got a huge commitment yesterday when Brewster Academy point guard Naadir Tharpe verbally committed to play for the Jayhawks.
- Luke Winn's latest list: top 16 freshmen.
- I don't think this has to do with oblivious coaches as much as it does coaches that just don't care about the result of too many phone calls.
- I do not envy the task sitting in front of new Iowa State head coach Fred Hoiberg. The Cyclones were one of the worst BCS-conference teams last season, only three members from last year's squad return, and they lost a first round pick.
- Sparty head coach Tom Izzo regrets not being more open about his off-season conversations with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The life-long MSU head coach was courted this summer by the Cavs in an attempt to keep LeBron James in the Buckeye State. Izzo eventually turned the job offer down, stating his intention to be "a lifer" at MSU.
- What has happened to Southern Illinois University? I can tell you that the last two seasons, a large part has been he result of recruits like Kevin Dillard, who were promised to different style of play. Get back to that gritty, grind 'em out defensive style, and the Salukis will start winning again.
- Good read on new Clemson head coach Brad Brownell.
- At San Jose State University you can get college credit for planning Midnight Madness (And to think I wasted time in a class called "How Things Work"?)
- Ken Pomeroy determines which conference will be the best, using data involving returning players.
- Adam Zagoria profiles Conference-USA, and more specficially, how Memphis will do with a full roster of players chosen by Josh Pastner
- Diamond Leunng explains tells us why we should keep Wyoming's Afam Muojeke on our radar screens
- Speaking of UConn, the players are not concerned with the ongoing NCAA investigation. That's good to hear, because they have a lot of work to do.
- A solid recap of Lorenzo Romar's interview from Washington's media day
- A quick note on media day at UNC-Wilmington (I only add this link because they reference a teal jacket that coach Buzz Petersen was given when he took over as head coach. I strongly believe that every head coach in the country should wear a school blazer for at least one home game per season, like Sidney Lowe, Rick Pitino, Bob Huggins, Bruce Pearl and others I can't think of right now. But seriously, this needs to be done.
- A member of the 1996 Kentucky team is trying to sell his National Championship ring on the internet. It's probably a scam ... Too soon?
