Thursday Morning Dump

- Rutgers is really making a splash on the recruiting trail this summer. Mike Rice has already brought in two four-star recruits in Malick Kone and Kadeem Jack, along with Derrick Randall, who is top 150 according to Rivals, and yesterday he landed a commitment from another four star recruit in Myles Mack. The kids are class of 2011, and recruiting classes don't make a program relevant, but this sure is a good way for the Scarlett Knights to start rebuilding. Or, well, building.

- Rush The Court has a fantastic series they are doing called the Big Four State Tournament. They really raised the bar with this one. Fantastic stuff.

- Dave Bliss, The former Baylor coach who tried to cover up a team murder by accusing a player of selling drugs, is opening up to the public about the 2003 ordeal.

- Gregg Doyel is a surly writer for CBSSports.com known to speak his mind. His comments here about Bruce Weber -- he blames Weber for the whole Anthony Davis soap opera from last month -- are pretty inflammatory.

- Jeff Goodman informs us on the scary-good roster assembled at South Kent Prep (CT).

- Goodman also tells us why the NCAA chose the wrong guy to lead the NCAA basketball focus group.

- Quinn Cook, a top 30 recruit in 2011, is out three months with his partially torn acl.

- Another Big Ten expansion-related post, but this one features statistics and a map. Everybody loves maps.

- Mikael Hopkins will announce his college selection on November 1st.

- Cody Zeller has scheduled the dates for his official visits. He will visit Butler first (10/9 - 10/11) then North Carolina (10/15 - 10/17), followed by Indiana (10/29-10/31). Methinks the Indiana Haloween party is gonna be off the chain.

- The all-time leading scorer in Western Michigan history, David Kool, will join the Broncos as undergraduate assistant coach.

Jim Boeheim was on one of my favorite shows, Man vs. Food. In another life, that would be my dream job. Getting paid to stuff your face? Yes please.
