Utah State's "Wild Bill" Sproat is in critical condition

I love college basketball, and I will freely admit that a huge reason for that are the fans.

They are loud, they are passionate, they pack the arenas, and their proximity to the floor creates an atmosphere unrivaled in american athletics. They are loyal to their school, unwavering and boisterous in their support, even if it does happen to cross the line.

Perhaps no one personifies this more than Utah State's "Wild Bill" Sproat.

Love the enthusiasm, not so much the outfit.

You know who Wild Bill is. He's the hefty, shirtless, and costumed member of the Utah State student section who parks himself directly underneath the basket when opponent's are shooting second half free throws.

Well, now he needs our support.

Wild Bill is in critical condition in the intensive care unit in a Salt Lake City hospital with heart problems stemming from a bout of pneumonia. Balloons and flowers are not allowed, but cards can be sent to the following address:
Patient: William Sproat
5121 South Cottonwood Street
Murray, Utah 84157
I honestly can say I never thought I'd be saying this, but I truly hope to see a shirtless Bill Sproat on ESPN's late night games come December.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Wild Bill. Get well soon.
