Let's all throw salt in Kansas' wound!!

Man, am I glad I am not a Kansas basketball fan right now.

With all the talk centering on conference expansion and realignment, Kansas is the program that most believe will be left on the outside looking in. The Pac-10 wants the six Texas and Oklahoma schools. The Big Ten wants Nebraska, Missouri, Notre Dame, and a couple of Big East schools.

Despite having unequivocally one of the six best basketball programs of all time, just two years removed from a national title and having spent much of last season ranked No. 1 in the country, the Jayhawks could very well be left out in the cold if disaster strikes.

That has to be a miserable feeling.

Can you imagine Kansas playing in the Mountain West? In Conference USA? Nothing against those two conferences, but this is Kansas! KANSAS! Its mind boggling, and surely enough to push some Jayhawk fans close to the edge, or at the very least closer to the local watering hole's bar.

Yup, that's Josh Selby in a cast.

As if that wasn't enough, Josh Selby, the 6'2" uber-recruit -- Rivals has him as the No. 1 recruit in the country -- expected to replace Sherron Collins as a playmaking point guard, broke the pinky on his left hand on Monday night playing pickup at KU, just a day after arriving in Lawrence.

Not exactly the best start to his career as a Jayhawk.

Selby won't need surgery and will be out for 4-6 weeks while the finger heals.

UPDATE: If that wasn't enough, The Shiver is reporting that Markieff Morris, Marcus Morris, and Thomas Robinson all were injured in today's alumni game.

I bet that makes the Nebraska news hurt just that much better.

LJ World is reporting Marcus Morris bruised his back, Thomas Robinson broke his nose, and Markieff Morris needed three stitches to close a cut in his mouth. Yikes.
