Last time we checked in with Teddy, he was being sentenced to 30 days in jail for raping and attacking his girlfriend out in Utah.
And, you know, I really thought we had heard the last of old Teddy Dupay.
But we haven't.
Because Chris Harry, a features writer over at Fanhouse, caught up with him. And you will never, ever believe what he's doing now:
Yup, Teddy Dupay in an activist for the legalization of marijuana.
(Side note: This is one of the funniest sentences I have ever read:From high school All-America point guard, to University of Florida star, to disgraced and banished college athlete, to basketball nomad, to single father, to accused rapist, to convicted felon, to inmate, to free man, and now, to optimistic crusader and energized entrepreneur. Next up: Legalizing pot.
A real winner, that one.)
I really have no idea what to make of this. SBNation thinks its BS, and I tend to agree. I mean, would you really trust someone who says that he has smoked weed but now that he has become an activist for the legalization, he no longer does? Or someone who is quoted in the Fanhouse article saying "All I knew about pot was that Jason Williams smoked a lot of it"?
It costs $94.50 to become a member, and dues are $24.20 a month. All of Dupay's expenses are tax deductible, and he sells merchandise on his website.
He insists in the article that this is not just "some Pot Pyramid scheme."
Umm, yeah, Teddy. It actually is.
If I wasn't laughing so hard I might actually be upset.
