Friday Lay-up Lines

Three games tonight of minimal consequence (at best):

  • 7:00 PM: Rider (8-5, 3-0) @ Siena (10-5, 4-0): Actually should be a pretty fun game to watch. Ryan Thompson, Jason Thompson's brother, is averaging 16.8 ppg and gets to go head-to-head with Siena's three man wrecking crew of Edwin Ubiles, Kenny Hasbrouck, and Alex Franklin.
  • 11:00 PM: Santa Clara (7-9) @ St. Mary's (13-1): The WCC opener for both schools. The Gaels may be 13-1, but they are going to need a dominating run through the conference because they did not put together an over powering resume during non-conference play.
Yup, that is it for college hoops tonight. Since there isn't much here, I'm going to leave you with this interesting tidbit: If you have watched any Oklahoma games, then you probably have questioned why Tony Crocker wears long sleeves during games. Is it a fashion statement? Does he shoot better with sleeves? Is he just trying to stand out?

Actually, no. There is a perfectly reasonable explanation why. From Tulsa World (via Vent About Sports):
Tony Crocker gave a sly smile when asked why he wears a long-sleeved shirt underneath his Oklahoma basketball jersey.

The junior guard chuckled in giving an answer about a condition that slows his ability to stay warm.
So he wears a long sleeve shirt to help him stay warm during games. Sounds pretty reasonable to me.
